Welcome Back!
I am so pleased that you have chosen to continue your educational journey with Academy 21 this year. I have always felt that our school is unique and supportive, even with such a large virtual component. As mentioned in letters sent home, I am excited for our return to pre-COVID structure where we will be able to interact in person with our students more often. Your student's teachers and mentors will share more information with you this week. Sometimes communication from the district level gets confusing for Academy 21 families. Rest assured, we will always tell you when our schedules are different. With that being said, our first two weeks are different than the rest of the district. Please take a moment to catch up on what is going on.
QUICK TIP: Did you know that our robocall system usually comes up as POTENTIAL SPAM on your phone? If you are like me, you probably don't answer it. Easy fix: Add 586-630-4027 to your contacts as "Academy 21 Robocall" and you will never miss an announcement again!
WELCOME WEEK
Tuesday 9/6 (Stop by between 9 AM and 3 PM)
- Chromebook pickup and paperwork drop off grades K-12
- Yellow "Program and Technology Agreement" forms need to be turned in even if you are not using a school Chromebook. We have extras.
- 6-12 Students: If you have a Chromebook from last year it must be returned for important updates.
- Picture Day! This is the ONLY day we have pictures.
- You do not need to order, but please take a picture so that we can update our ID system.
- They will also provide a proof packet if you change your mind and want to order later.

- You are invited to join us in person or virtually.
- We will show you how to navigate this year's learning plans, Google Classroom, Google Meets, and Calvert Learning.

Thursday 9/9 and Friday 9/10
- K-5 Teacher Welcome Week Meetings
- Mrs. Chapman and Ms. Robinson will be meeting with students in some great "get to know you" sessions.
- They will share their schedules with parents.
- 6-12 Student Welcome Week Meetings
- Mentors will meet with students to discuss what is old, what is new, and everything in between!
- Students should check their "@go2clps.org" school email to see when their meetings are scheduled.
- This is a REQUIREMENT for students. Not attending may result in a delay for starting classes.

- Start Calvert lessons at home with parents

- Fountas & Pinnell reading level testing with teachers
